Heritage Landscapes vol.57

Heritage Landscapes is the Promemoria Group newsletter created to observe the contemporary heritage landscape. Twice a month we share the most interesting news and the most innovative projects, investigating those archival stories that turn an object, a brand or an insight, into a legend.

Between architecture, design, fashion, food, technology. With no limit to our curiosity.

1. The Long View

Collecting materials
Among the most original collections dedicated to material culture, the Materials Library at the Institute of Making in London collects thousands of samples from the most diverse fields of human and natural production. Metals, fabrics, plastics, ceramics, biological and experimental materials coexist in an archive designed not only to be consulted, but also touched, observed and tested.

The collection was created with the aim of exploring the physical and sensory properties of materials, fostering the intersection of scientific research, design, craftsmanship, and industry. Over the years, the collection has also been digitized, making a significant portion of the collection accessible online and expanding its accessibility to scholars, designers, and the curious from around the world.
Promemoria
Located within a multidisciplinary laboratory, the Materials Library represents a space for study and experimentation that encourages a direct approach to knowledge, transforming the archive into a living place of discovery and collaboration.
An ever-evolving heritage that tells the story of the world through its raw materials, transformation processes, and the infinite possibilities of doing.

2. Augmented Craft

Promemoria
The dream of becoming a curator

On Google Arts & Culture, the archive meets artificial intelligence, and thousands of digitized works are analyzed by algorithms that recognize their shapes, colors, and visual features, creating a three-dimensional map to explore freely. Among the most interesting features is the Curator Table, a virtual space inspired by curators' work tables, where works, artists, and styles can be placed side by side and compared in a single digital environment, creating a different way of navigating collections that invites us to observe cultural heritage from new perspectives.

3. Seen & Noted

Pomellato, Le Joaillier Révolutionnaire
Pomellato, Le Joaillier Révolutionnaire is the Maison's first exhibition in the French capital, hosted at the Palais de Tokyo and curated by Alba Cappellieri. The exhibition traces, through archival jewelry, contemporary collections, and arthouse photographs, the revolutions that have redefined the language of fine jewelry since 1967. An immersive journey that puts at the center the vision of a free, bold and contemporary femininity. The exhibition is open until July 20, 2026, with free admission by reservation.

“The purpose of Archivissima is to take care of the contents, whether they are photographs, songs, comics, words, recipes, human or celestial bodies. To restore value, and precision, to memory.”

Promemoria Group

Since 2011, Promemoria Group has been the leading authority in the world of heritage, historical archives, and their valorization. We recover, preserve, and organize the history of over 250 major companies and institutions, while also storytelling and unlocking its value in every way possible. We are humanists with a passion for science and scientists with a humanistic spirit: a strategic partner that transforms heritage into a living asset, bridging roots and vision, past and future.

Our uniqueness lies in the integration of three dimensions: consulting, methodology, and a digital platform. We work alongside top management to define heritage strategies aligned with business objectives, translating the analysis of historical assets into guidelines, governance models, and concrete paths for valorization. Our proprietary method, Memories, combines scientific rigor, cultural vision, and organizational capacity, structuring complex tangible and intangible assets in a solid, orderly, and scalable way. Simultaneously, our digital platform ARCHIVIO.COM makes archives accessible, searchable, and strategically usable, transforming memory into an operational tool for communication, marketing, innovation, and decision-making.

ARCHIVIO, Archivissima, and Legend are the ways Promemoria Group valorizes heritage, showcasing the extraordinary content of archives through a contemporary lens—whether through a magazine that changes its editorial team every four issues, a national festival with a format unique in Europe, or a B2B event that explores how a brand can transcend time and become a legend.
